Deagan Watson, LMHC
Chief Executive Officer
Deagan Watson serves as the Chief Executive Officer of River Oaks Hospital. He brings over 15 years of mental health, clinical and administrative experience to the New Orleans area. Deagan begin his career as a mental health therapist, working for the Florida state psychiatric hospital system in several roles, with both civil and forensic individuals. He continued to provide mental health treatment and service to various populations in both private practice and hospital settings. Deagan later was an administrator responsible for overseeing all mental health services for a large acute medical hospital and most recently was the Chief Operating Officer for a large psychiatric hospital in Ocala, Florida.
His leadership style was shaped by several years of providing therapeutic interventions along with years of progressive management experience in different hospital settings. These experiences and management opportunities have provided the platform to lead River Oaks into the next phase of growth and continued high quality treatment.
Dr. Lincoln Denton Paine
After completing his Psychiatry residency at Tulane in 1965, two years in the Navy as a psychiatrist, and a two year fellowship in Child Psychiatry, Dr. Paine joined the River Oaks Medical Staff in early 1970, shortly after the hospital was founded. He spent three years in the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute before deciding that he wanted to devote himself to hospital work, and that has been his focus ever since. In 1988 he became the fourth Medical Director at River Oaks. For over forty years Dr. Paine has also done a weekly consultation at Waldo Burton Home for Boys.
Director of Clinical Services
William Lieder is the Director of Clinical Services for River Oaks Hospital, where he has worked for 18 years.
He started out as a weekend therapist and worked in the Admissions Department before getting his current position, which he has held for 15 years. Before joining River Oaks Hospital, he served as the Director of Social Services at Kindred Hospital, Physician’s Hospital, and Holly Hill Charter in Raleigh, North Carolina (now a UHS hospital). He was a Psychiatric Technician at the New Orleans Adolescent Hospital for four years before getting his M.S.W.
Born and raised in New Orleans, William holds a Master’s Degree of Social Work from Tulane University and a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as having his BACS designation.
